Description Tim Harder gentoo-dev 2008-11-08 08:00:02 UTC
Version update with updated man pages and better guile configuration with autotools.

The new version works fine using a trivial version bump from version 1.8.0 in the tree.

Ebuild updates for version 1.8.3

Use EAPI 2 features and move a few fields around to more standard positions in the ebuild.

Given khotkeys4's lack of decent multikey support, I'm looking at xbindkeys. I'll overlay the ebuild from here for merging, but it'd be nice to have it in-tree.

¿Does it works for you with xorg-server-1.6.3.901 using evdev keyboard driver?
Because it doesn't for me...

Should I do something I don't do?

I'm on xorg-server-1.7.1 (which is ~arch) now. 1.6.3.901 was a 1.6.4 pre-release, some time ago now for me as I'm on ~arch, tho it does seem to be the latest stable.

However, it did work fine with the evdev keyboard driver when I tried it, here.

Looking at the xbindkeys guile based advanced config, however, I realized that rather than learn a new scripting language, I could script what I needed in bash, or more precisely, using a combination of the khotkeys4 crippled functionality, a special konsole profile, a special kwin setting to match the konsole profile, and bash scripting, so that's what I did instead. It may not be perfect, but it did save me from having to learn xbindkeys guile scripting to replace kde3's khotkeys' missing functionality in kde4's version. =:^)

It's in the tree. Thanks for reporting.
