Description Xake 2008-11-08 07:34:36 UTC
/dev/mapper/lvg-vartmp on /var/tmp type ext2 (rw,noatime)

# lvs
  vartmp lvg -wi-a- 12,10G

# LC_ALL="C" lvresize -d -v -r -L10G /dev/lvg/vartmp
    Finding volume group lvg
    Executing: fsadm check /dev/lvg/vartmp (null)
fsck 1.41.3 (12-Oct-2008)
e2fsck 1.41.3 (12-Oct-2008)
/dev/mapper/lvg-vartmp: clean, 3080/794624 files, 66488/3172352 blocks
    Executing: fsadm resize /dev/lvg/vartmp 10485760
resize2fs 1.41.3 (12-Oct-2008)
The containing partition (or device) is only 3172352 (4k) blocks.
You requested a new size of 10485760 blocks.

fsadm: Resize ext2 failed
  fsadm failed: 1

Same result if I try upwards, just an even higher count of blocks it can't find.

Seems like fsadm sends the size divided by 1024 instead of the actual blockcount or something....

I have reproduced this on another computer following ~x86 too, but since it has an unsupported toolchain I had to set this up on another system. Except for openrc and lvm2 and its dependencies it is following stable.

I do not know if this was fixed upstream, but with latest version I have no problems anymore.
