Description Helmut Jarausch 2008-11-06 11:03:21 UTC
pgplot does not build when more than one processor/core is available.
It needs
MAKEOPTS=-j1

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Juergen Rose 2008-11-06 23:31:00 UTC
It does not compile for me even with MAKEOPTS="-j1":
root@condor:/usr/src(237)# grep MAKEOPTS /etc/make.conf
MAKEOPTS="-j1"
root@condor:/usr/src(238)# emerge -vuDN  world

This problem occur at all my x86_64 machines. And it blocks the building of some other packages:

The problem seems to occur whenever a dynamic library is built from an archive (.a) of objects which have been compiled without -fPIC.
I, too, have these on my AMD64 machines.

Should be fixed in cvs.
Comment 8 craven 2010-03-11 15:14:30 UTC
not sure what "Should be fixed in cvs." should tell us, but there is still no working version available in portage...
