I badly need qt 4.5 on my Gentoo box for development reasons. Aren't there any working 4.5 snapshot ebuilds yet? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

No, we're understaffed as it is, and we don't normally add ebuilds for development snapshots. Contributions are welcome...
qt-4.5 packages are on kde-crazy overlay. Note that they are masked for now.
the qt-4.5 packages are now on kde-crazy overlay.
I added kde-crazy to take a look at the packages, and emerge complains: * Overlay eclasses override eclasses from PORTDIR: * * '/usr/portage/local/layman/kde-crazy/eclass/kde4-base.eclass' * '/usr/portage/local/layman/kde-crazy/eclass/kde4-functions.eclass' * '/usr/portage/local/layman/kde-crazy/eclass/kde4-meta.eclass' * '/usr/portage/local/layman/kde-crazy/eclass/qt4-build.eclass' * * It is best to avoid overriding eclasses from PORTDIR because it will * trigger invalidation of cached ebuild metadata that is distributed with * the portage tree. If you must override eclasses from PORTDIR then you * are advised to add FEATURES="metadata-transfer" to /etc/make.conf and to * run `emerge --regen` after each time that you run `emerge --sync`. Set * PORTAGE_ECLASS_WARNING_ENABLE="0" in /etc/make.conf if you would like to * disable this warning.
We have done some changes on kde4 and qt4 eclasses. That is why portage complains. This warning means the the portage wont use the eclasses under /usr/portage/eclass but it will use the eclassed located on kde-crazy overlay. Do not worry about this
So it's not necessary to use FEATURES="metadata-transfer" and to emerge --regen?
Based on the kde-crazy ebuilds I created ebuilds to built qt-4.5 from trolltech's git server. These are available under git://github.com/cfchris6/qting-edge.git They compiled fine here on amd64 and x86.
