Description Clemens Schwaighofer 2003-07-16 01:00:15 UTC
I have a 7 Gigabyte file on a RedHat 7.2 Linux Box. I connect from two Gentoos (one
phyiscal PC and one VMware) and one Windows to this box. The Windows (XP) and
the VMware Gentoo show the correct file size, but with the standalone Gentoo Box I
get this:
-rw-rw-rw- 1 65535 users 18446744072492736512 Jul 16 16:42
full_2002_10.log

this is defenitly NOT 7 Gig :)

both Gentoo boxes run samba 2.2.8a

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

sorry kernel smbfs module has 2GB file size limit.

i cannot fix this for you, do not report these bugs to me,
report to the kernel people or the samba team.

Comment 2 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2003-07-16 14:53:31 UTC
calculating filesizes via samba is in accurate anyways :)

use NFS or something more secure
Comment 3 Clemens Schwaighofer 2003-07-16 17:54:53 UTC
NFS is another issue. But I think my main RedHat Box is more or less ... CRAP.
because from one box I can see the file in correct size from the other not ...

bugzilla buggy.
