I installed the new Gentoo Linux on my i686 Intel(R) Xeon(TM) MP CPU 3.16GHz. After finishing the installation, just right after the emerge --newuse world, I started emerging Apache. Sorry, guys, I didn't notice this pcre trouble. Running the update for PCRE fixed all the problems with Apache installation
