Description Jerome Potts 2008-11-04 02:40:56 UTC
i was expecting a /usr/bin/glame (the GUI front-end); all i get there is a "cglame" (the console front-end), and a "glame-convert.sh".Going through the list of files belonging to the package, i fail to find any candidate. "which glame" returns empty-handed.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. paludis --install --dl-upgrade as-needed --dl-new-slots as-needed --dl-reinstall if-use-changed media-sound/glame
(i assume that using emerge/portage would not make any difference)
2. which glame
3. paludis --contents media-sound/glame
4. eix glame

Actual Results:
1.: See attachment
2.: which: no glame in (/home/<me>/GNUstep/Tools:/usr/GNUstep/Local/Tools:/usr/GNUstep/Network/Tools:/usr/GNUstep/System/Tools:/usr/lib/ccache/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/opt/bin:/usr/i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/4.1.2:/opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.2.03/bin:/opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.2.03/jre/bin:/usr/qt/3/bin)

4.: # eix glame
[I] media-sound/glame
     Available versions:  (*)2.0.1 {alsa debug gnome nls vorbis}
Installed versions: 2.0.1(07:04:43 PM 11/03/2008)(alsa nls vorbis -debug -gnome)
     Homepage: http://glame.sourceforge.net/
Description: an audio file editing utility

Expected Results:
Was expecting an executable, e.g. /usr/bin/glame

1: i don't have GNOME, and i have the gnome USE flag turned off: "-gnome"
2: it pulled in esound as a dependency, but i haven't activated it
3: /usr/bin/cglame seems to work: it launches, then exits when requested.

I don't see a bug here (compare net-im/pidgin's IUSE=gtk), but maybe the maintainers would like to explain IUSE=gnome in metadata.xml?

What's the bug exactly? glame is for gnome..
