Description Michael Laß 2008-11-03 14:19:14 UTC
aspell doesn't install additional language packs, though they are part of LINGUAS.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set LINGUAS not to "en", e.g. "de en"
2. Install aspell-0.60.5
Actual Results:
aspell and aspell-en are installed, other language packs are not.

Expected Results:
Additional language packs should be installed, too.

Ebuild to fix the LANGUAS bug

I had the same problem, so i checked the ebuild. At the end i overwrite the part to select the dependencies. It's tested and i hope you give it a shot.
(Okay i don't like the equery part either, but it make the ebuild very dynamic)
Comment 2 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-12-01 12:53:43 UTC
Thanks for you help Marcel.

calls to equery in global scope are prohibited. I think it's better to add static list of langs of aspell-<lang> dictionaries that exist in the tree. Then select aspell-<lang> dictionaries from intersection of this list and LINGUAS.

Michael, thank you for report. This bug was caused by non defining linugas_<lang> in IUSE. Fixed in the tree without version bump:

  10 Jan 2009; Peter Volkov <pva@gentoo.org> aspell-0.60.6.ebuild:
Fixed LINGUAS handling, bug #245399, thank Michael Laß for report.
