I have a number of bibtex entries which contain commented lines that begin with '%' OR ';;'. This causes jabref's parser to fail and not import any bib items. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.take a valid bibtex database. 2.add a couple of comment lines (starting with a % or ;;) 3.test validity of bibtex entry by running through pdflatex, latex, etc. 4.now open this database in jabref and watch it fail Actual Results: jabref fail on this entry and neither properly interprets this a a valid comment OR fails safe on the database and continues parsing the following entries, Expected Results: either recognize the valid comment line OR fail safe and ignore the entry (giving a warning) and uses the rest of the valid entries. Please try to reproduce with 2.4.2 and if the bug is still there, fill a report upstream as it's most likely not specific to Gentoo packaging and we can't do much else than report upstream as well.
Version 2.4.2 allows comments with both % and ;; as long as they are *outside* a bibtex entry. Caster, thanks for informing me of the jabref ebuild update! EBo --
