With hotplugging input devices, when I shut down my session by logging out of KDE, the keyboard and mouse are readded, so I have them twice in my system. I'd be happy to see following patch applied to the 1.4 release of the xorg-server here, since I'm unable to use 1.5 because of an ancient nvidia card. I applied it locally and it resolves the problem. http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/diff/?h=server-1.5-branch&id=6d22a9615a0e6ab3d00b0bcb22ff001b6ece02ae&id2=3c337e18b933881e22b0d03312511f1d23a8640b http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/diff/?h=server-1.5-branch&id=6d22a9615a0e6ab3d00b0bcb22ff001b6ece02ae&id2=3c337e18b933881e22b0d03312511f1d23a8640b Thanks, Sascha Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run 1.4.2 with input hotplugging 2. softly shut down session 3. See keyboard and mouse unresponsive or behaving weirdly Actual Results: hal readdes the devices so they are duplicated
I'm sorry but we won't fix bugs on xorg-server 1.4. And nvidia recently updated all of their drivers for older cards and those should work with 1.5. Thanks
