The problem is as the following:
$> USE="real" emerge -p mplayer

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies |

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to emerge realplayer or anything what requires it
2. see that it is not mergeing
3. complain to bugs.gentoo

Actual Results:  
Nothing happens

Expected Results:  
Emerge of realplayer

Doesn't work on platform x86.

The keywords were dropped to ~arch in the bump from -r1 to -r2, it would seem.
