Description jihoonson 2008-10-31 09:17:21 UTC
I hope that my mirror is added to the list of mirrors for Gentoo. It is a full mirror of the Gentoo sources. It is available via http, ftp.

ftp://mirror.korea.ac.kr/gentoo/distfiles

Reproducible: Always

Hi,

Thanks for wanting to help Gentoo out with a mirror. I'm adding you to our test
system and will keep you posted about it's progress.

In the meanwhile, please provide the following :

1) Hardware Specs of the server
2) Link specs
3) No of concurrent users you plan to support
4) Name by which you'd like to be listed on the site

Thanks!

Thanks for comment.

However, I didn't understand what you mean about "link specs" and "No of concurrent users you plan to support". Please give me some additional explanation about that.

Followings are hardware specs and list name.

1) Hardware Specs of the server
- IBM x3550
- CPU Intel Xeon Dualcore x64
- 1 GB RAM
- 1 TB HDD

4) Name by which you'd like to be listed on the site
- Korea Univ.

Thanks!

-Link specs: what is your bandwith?
-No of concurrent users you plan to support: Number of concurrent users(users downloading at the same time). Although this one i don't think its needed for non-rsync mirror.

Thank you very much for the rapid reply!

I have 100Mbps bandwidth and plan to support 400 concurrent users.

I'm seeing some lags/errors.

*ERROR* : distfiles is over 5.5 hours behind, lag is : 8.17 hours
Timestamp on Mirror : Sun, 16 Nov 2008 19:00:17 +0000
Current time in UTC : Mon, 17 Nov 2008 03:10:22 +0000

Mirrors should be synced once in 4 hours as mentioned in http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/source_mirrors.xml

Also, there is a releases/.test directory which shouldn't be publicly accessible, but it is, via FTP.

Please look into these issues.

Timeout.

We're sorry, but the mirror does not meet the required criteria to be added as
an official Gentoo mirror. You may re-open this bug in 6 months, at which point
we will re-test it. You're welcome to keep running the mirror for yourself
based on another public mirror, but it won't be on our mirror lists or
rotations. Thanks for wanting to help Gentoo out with a mirror.
