Try upgrading your media-video/realplayer first, since you seem to have an old version in which the codecs were not yet split apart into a separate package
(In reply to comment #1) > Try upgrading your media-video/realplayer first, since you seem to have an old > version in which the codecs were not yet split apart into a separate package > I removed media-video/realplayer and reinstalled it. Upgrading doesn't work because it pulls in media-libs/realcodecs first, causing the same problem.
I've updated realcodecs-11.0.1.1056.ebuild to block <realplayer-11.0.1.1056-r2 due to the file collisions with /opt/RealPlayer/codecs/*. The blocker is resolved automatically by portage: [ebuild N ] media-libs/realcodecs-11.0.1.1056 [ebuild U ] media-video/realplayer-11.0.1.1056-r2 [11.0.0.4028-r1] [blocks b ] <media-video/realplayer-11.0.1.1056-r2 ("<media-video/realplayer-11.0.1.1056-r2" is blocking media-libs/realcodecs-11.0.1.1056)
