I found this nice tool while searching for good score editor for GTK. NtED is a WYSIWYG editor and is made by the author of NoteEdit. I think this recomendation is enough ;)

Compilet great on my amd64 box and works ok. *.desktop file needs small patching as the app name is not displayed in XFCE's menu but I don't know yet how to do this.

It's not clear why you inherit from base, all the base functions are automatically available, whether you explicitly inherit from it or not...  5:)

Otherwise it looks fine.  CCing sound in case someone there's interested in it.

NtEd's current version is 1.4.17 - after renaming the last attached ebuild above, it installs and works fine on x86.

Does it help to offer beeing maintainer? (I am no team member right now)

Current version is 1.6.0 btw

Yes, I would be grateful if you could be proxy maintainer for this package. I 'll clean up the ebuild first so you could learn from your mistakes ;)

I ve added this ebuild ( version 1.6.0 ) on my overlay

You can view the ebuild here

You can use it by adding this overlay via layman

layman -a hwoarang
emerge nted

I need to do a little bit more testing before adding it to portage tree though :)

Patch for the desktop file
