Description Mark Keisler 2008-10-27 14:52:18 UTC
Openfire 3.6.0 has a bug that can prevent users from logging in to the server. I hit this and had some serious service issues. Some problematic clients seem to cause the issue, but those can also keep people with compliant clients from logging in. I had to downgrade to 3.5.2. Please keyword mask 3.6.0 because of this, http://www.igniterealtime.org/issues/browse/JM-1465

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install openfire 3.6.0
2. start it up
3. Have someone try to connect with a problematic client as listed in the OF bug

Actual Results:
disconnect after athentication

Expected Results:
successful login

oh, 3.6.0a is also affected.

mm I don't want to mask all versions just because of this. It is a valid bug, no discussion needed but I fail to see how masking this now helps.

Maybe adding a note about it is worth some bytes though

Note added to ebuild. Thanks for the heads up though :)
Comment 4 Mark Keisler 2008-10-27 18:50:13 UTC
we don't need to mask all versions. Why is 3.5.2 masked? I think masking it is a good idea because the only version marked stable left me with a broken installation. I agree that not all versions should be masked, but let's unmask 3.5.2 then.

Incidentally, I don't even see a note regarding when the ebuild for 3.5.2 was added in the ChangeLog.
