Description Lori 2008-10-27 14:42:17 UTC
I have a KDE desktop and -gnome set in make.conf. When emerging GRAMPS, a some packages needed for it are not pulled in, and emerge fails. After manually installing libbonobo, I decided to add the gnome USE flag, do an 'emerge -uDNav world' and try emerging GRAMPS again. This time configure failed with another missing component:
The python bindings for gnome2 (gnome2-python) could not be found.

I suppose the dependency section of the ebuild should take into account some of these situations...

Reproducible: Always

You tried it with 3.0.2, too?

gnome-python is in the dependencies of Gramps without any USE flag conditionals. So I have a problem reproducing your failure. Could you elaborate a bit more, please?

Sorry for the long delay, but since I had to reinstall my laptop (which is a machine different from the one where I noticed the bug), I thought I wait to try it on a clean system... So I set -gnome, and just after emerging xorg, I emerged gramps (3.0.1-r1). This time it encountered no errors. I suppose there was something wrong with the other machine's setup.

Sorry for the previous hasty bug report!

No problem, don't hesitate to report bugs, even if they turn out to be "stupid" in the end.

Use proper resolution for closing.
