searching forum for "zoneminder ffmpeg" it seems to me downgrading to "ffmpeg-0.4.8" solve the compilation problem for some folks but 0.4.8 is no longer in portage. I tried: current ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20081014 ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20070616 it doesn't work, something had changed in ffmpeg-0.4.9 version that prevents zoneminder to compile.
Looks like a duplicate of bug 228731, but not quite.
Sync. It works fine with =media-video/ffmpeg-0.4.9_p20081014 which will be going stable.
