Wishlist: Sometimes a package I have installed gets masked for some reason and breaks world updates. I can visit packages.gentoo.org and see that all version of the package are now masked, but there's no explanation why the package has been masked, and /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask may not be helpful. If the devs' Copious Free Time permits, it would be nice to have the "masked" entries in the package detail page (specifically, the "~" and "M~" entries in the platform/version grid) be links to a brief explanation of _why_ the package is masked (e.g. not yet stable, bugs, etc.) so that an informed decision whether or not to ignore the mask, uninstall the package, etc. can be made. Thanks!
patches welcome, but be aware that it might be p.masked in only a specific profile.
Masks will be displayed in the upcoming relaunch.
