I right clicked on some java-file containing an applet and I selected "Run As / Java applet". Normally, that works without a problem. But sometimes it takes a very long time ("Operation in progress" and it does not respond anymore...) and in the end, I get the error "the selection does not contain a Java applet".

Btw., a long time really means a long time. I have tried to start the applet now 5 minutes ago and it still is at the dialog "Operation in progress". But there is no CPU usage (or at least not much, something around 10%) and no disk activity.
Clicking on "Cancel" in this dialog also is a very slow action, I clicked on "Cancel" now a minute ago and the dialog is still there...
Assigning to Java herd primarily, since it sounds more like a java-ish issue...
