Bug 24326 – Postfix ebuild(s) w/ goofy maildir/mbox stuff

For some reason "maildir" shows up in postfix as a USE flag, despite the
fact that it's not in any of the default profiles.  No problem, though,
since for the 2.x series, at least, there's a patch for main.cf that takes
care of setting postfix to use $HOME/.maildir as the default mailbox location
(and type).  It's not clear, however, that the patch doesn't then cause problems 
when "mbox" is in USE.  I think these ebuilds need some general cleaning.

You're on to something here Grant.  After last weekend's emerge world update
I stopped getting local mail.  I was getting a load of these in the logs:
postfix/local[15391]: fatal: gethostbyname: No such file or directory

I have both maildir and mbox.

I've gone back to postfix-2.0.9 - that one works OK

Forgot to mention - latest postfix seems to ignore myhostname setting in  
/etc/postfix/main.cf.  I set mine to my hostname and yet it still wanted to 
use gethostbyname.
