I have the terminal sessions button added into the panel and when I select a
session that has a period in the name field, konsole starts but only loads up a
shell with no name. The reason I have a period in it is because I have my common
ssh sessions in there with the domain name. It will however work if you start
konsole and select it from the sessions list. I'm using kde 3.1.2 and konsole
1.2.2. Couldn't find this bug anywhere so I hope it's not a dup. Thanks.

Unfortunately this is a KDE bug.  Your best bet to get it fixed it to report it at http://bugs.
kde.org.
