Description Darke 2002-05-04 02:05:19 UTC
Installing kcmpureftpd (the kde control configuation applet for pureftpd) in a kde3
envronment doesn't work.

1) Because it installes all the icons/.desktop files/libraries under /usr/kde/2/.
2) After copying them all into the appropriate /usr/kde/3/ directories it doesn't work because
it apparently just doesn't work using kde3. (KControl gives errors indicating it is an obsolete
applet.)

So, is it possible to either add a 'deny' into one of the make.profile files to give an
error/warning if someone tries to install this, if kde2 isn't installed, or give a error/warning in
the .ebuild script? Perhaps at the end, add a visable note/warning that it isn't supported by
kde3 if it detects it's installed?

Thanks.

This app needs kde 2.x, and will install it if it isn't present..
Since this program just isn't designed to work under kde 3, this isn't really a
bug.. Closing

According to http://lkr.sourceforge.net/kcmpureftpd/kde3.html there is now a script that will fix the source to compile KcmPureftpd 0.6 for KDE 3.x. I'll try to fix the ebuild to run the fix-kcm06.sh script if KDE 3.x is installed. This will be my first ebuild hack.
