I'm trying to configure crossdev on a x86 machine to compile for a x86_64 machine. I began the attempt about a week ago and discovered that the glibc-2.8-20080602.tar.bz2 file downloads about only 3 megs at every mirror I've tried, but it should be closer to 15. Normally a mirror update fixes this sort of thing within a few days, but after a week I'm guessing the file really is busted. I've tried most mirrors in North America and a number in Europe, all with the same result. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. crossdev -t x86_64-pc-linux-gnu 2. 3. Actual Results: emerge gives up downloading the file after several hours. Expected Results: Full download of glibc-2.8-20080602.tar.bz2. Happy compilation.
seems to work now, so I will close this. Sorry it took so long but this is not really a mirror problem, the mirrors are just doing what they are told to. (It might have been a manifest problem, I don't want to research though because it works fine now)
