Description Shahar Evron 2008-10-19 13:17:41 UTC
Looking for someone to maintain an ebuild for Glista: http://prematureoptimization.org/glista/ - a simplistic to-do list tracker for Gnome or other desktops, based on Gtk+.

I am the upstream developer and I have an ebuild ready (see http://glista.googlecode.com/files/glista-0.3.ebuild ) but need a Gentoo developer to maintain it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
N/A

Don't mind maintaining the ebuild myself, but I need someone to mentor / proxy me.

Current ebuild. I think app-office is the most appropriate category.

Ok, the ebuild I attached seems to be entirely broken. I will fix it and re-post.

It's very very simple program. Don't think it's needed in portage...

A new version of the ebuild for Glista 0.4 with an optional gtkspell use flag is available here: http://glista.googlecode.com/files/glista-0.4.ebuild

I don't think complexity is a requirement ;-) and gentoo philosophy itself promote simplicity, just like this very useful 'tool'. So IMHO software like this, simple, useful and (seems) well written satisfy all the requirements to be installed with an, again, simple: "emerge glista" ;-)

Anyway, tech speaking, 0.4 ebuild install flawlessly. Tnx Shahar

i can offer you to commit glista to the sunrise overlay or you can do it yourself.

I will look into sunrise.

BTW the code optionally depends on libunique but it is not available in portage yet (I know Ubuntu ships it starting from 8.10). There is an open request for it: #236899 so once it is in portage, I can add it as an optional use-flag dependency.
