Description Harris Landgarten 2008-10-19 03:19:02 UTC
I am trying to install 2008.0-r1 for AMD64 on a mini Intel ICH10 motherboard with an 82567LF-2 ethernet chip. The e1000e module on the install CDs is too old and does not work. I have the latest driver source from the Intel site but cannot build a module on the LiveCD because there is no kernel source. I also cannot build the module on another machine because 2.6.24-r7 is no longer in the tree. I cannot get another nic into the machine because of the chassis. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Reproducible: Always

If it just needs a newer kernel, this will automatically be fixed with the next round of media. In the mean time, you can install from a Knoppix CD (or any CD that gives you a working bash prompt).

Do you know of a live cd with 2.6.26 or 2.6.27 with lvm2 on it?

Thanks, that did the trick

The installcd autobuilds are currently using a 2.6.28 kernel.
