As the eric4 NewsFeed indicates, there have been 3 more versions since the last ebuild in Portage. The latest version brings a lot, fixes many bugs, and changes its license to gpl v3. According to it's README installation is simple but it'd be great if there is an ebuild for this. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.eix eric 2.No eric4-4.2.2a 3. Actual Results: Nothing there Expected Results: eric4-4.4.2a in portage
Thanks for the report, assigning to maintainers.
dev-util/eric-4.2.3 released: http://www.die-offenbachs.de/eric/eric-news.html Still dev-util/eric-4.2.0 in Portage
adding myself on this. merely a namechange of the ebuild seems to work fine. The same patchfile from 4.2.0 is still needed and still works. I see no reason to submit an ebuild or change anything on this. It seems stable on x86. Can we get some additional verification and get this pushed? #mkdir /usr/local/portage/dev-util/eric #cp -v /usr/portage/dev-util/eric/eric-4.2.0.ebuild /usr/local/portage/dev-util/eric/eric-4.2.3.ebuild #cp -rv /usr/portage/dev-util/eric/files /usr/local/portage/dev-util/eric/ #cd /usr/local/portage/dev-util/eric #ebuild eric-4.2.3.ebuild digest #emerge -uDqa --newuse eric
