Description Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-17 19:14:34 UTC
The attached patch is necessary to compile mplayer on ppc64 using gcc 4.3.x. please include it in your next patchset.

as you can see at upstream bug it has already been applied to the gcc 4.3 branch so this should be fixed in 4.3.3.

I have had mythtv misbehaving with 4.3.2 on athlon64 arch while athlon-xp is perfectly fine. I wonder if this'll fix that too... I built it with 4.2.4 and it was fine. (specifically, 4.3.2 p1.1 and 4.2.4 p1.0.)

(I guess I should file a seperate bug, but IMHO -p1.1 and -p1.0 should show up on the ebuild names, could I have had a differently strange 4.3.2 p1.0?)

I'm going to try building mythtv with this patch and see if it's better, otherwise I'll file a seperate bug for this.

...And... it is not. This patch doesn't fix that particular bit of misbehavior. I thought since they were both video apps and 64-bit.... *shrug*.
