I will release a standalone dazuko-2.x ebuild soon and various separate antivir packages soon, JFYI :-)
An separate dazuko-Ebuild isn't bad. But Dazuko is included with AntiVir, every time. And when I got H+BEDV right is the AntiVir optimized for the included dazuko version. What's about incompatibilities between higher Dazuko versions? This could lead to crashes of AntiVir, isn't it? I think it's better to provide a separate Dazuko for other antivirus engines and using the included Dazuko version for AntiVir, that means Dazuko standalone not together with Dazuko included...
No (you can reach me via wschlich@antivir.de btw ;). This will all be handled in the AntiVir ebuilds, so if it's really necessary to use a certain version of Dazuko with AntiVir, this will be ensured by correct dependencies. If it helps you, I've talked to John Ogness (the Dazuko maintainer) about the Gentoo packages I'm going to develop and we agreed on doing it this way :)
added dep for dazuko bug

Why do you change to kmod? please use kernel-mod now. Kmod will be sson removed from the tree.
Created attachment 44353 [details] antivir-dazuko/antivir-dazuko-2.0.4_pre2.ebuild Changing to kmod because some essential variables as KV_OBJ aren't available in kernel-mod. But changing to it anyway, now.

now that H+BEDV changed to a versioned package naming scheme, I will definitely add AntiVir packages to the portage tree. stay tuned.
Personally, I'm glad to see Dazuko is making some headway into portage. I've been running clamav with Clamuko configured for a couple of days and it works nicely. I can't wait to see a stand alone version of dazuko - it seams a little strange to have to install antivir (non-free) in order to get a little extra functionality on clamav :/ I also ran with the latest version of dazuko (2.10) as a test and it all went nicely as well. AntiVir installed without a hitch from these ebuilds. Nice.
Didn't try this ebuild yet, but antivir installed without ebuild, doesn't update when /tmp is mounted "noexec" (Gentoo Security recommendation). Using --temp=/var/tmp now.
Great work so far! Please kill the DEVFS part in the ebuild. I got... >>> Unpacking source... >>> Unpacking antivir-workstation-prof-2.1.3.tar.gz to /var/tmp/portage/antivir-dazuko-2.0.5_pre3/work >>> Unpacking dazuko-2.0.5-pre3.tar.gz to /var/tmp/portage/antivir-dazuko-2.0.5_pre3/work/antivir-workstation-prof-2.1.3/src >>> Source unpacked. * Kernel with /dev file system support configure: error: unrecognized option: --enable-devfs Try `./configure --help' for more information. !!! ERROR: app-antivirus/antivir-dazuko-2.0.5_pre3 failed. !!! Function src_compile, Line 54, Exitcode 1 !!! Could not configure module !!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message. After I have killed the "DEVFS if" it works for me. It seems to be that configure detects DEVFS support by it self (now)

Comment on attachment 61275 [details] antivir-dazuko/antivir-dazuko-2.0.5_pre4.ebuild devfs bug fixed - configure detects devfs support by it self now
WOW, this is old, still relevant?
Well... dazuko is in its own package now. So it is not needed to be build in this package.
If you want to provide updated ebuilds and are able to find a maintainer for this, or if you want to maintain it yourself in sunrise overlay [1], then do so and reopen. WONTFIX meanwhile. [1] http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/sunrise
