I have the problem that even though cdrecord is installed (via cdrkit), k3b (1.04 as well as 1.05-r3) does not find cdrtools. Regrettably there also seems to be no possibility of setting the path to cdrecord manually. As a result of this, I cannot burn any CD's and k3b will crash when trying to do so. As this seems to me more a bug with gentoo I report it here. Furthermore the warning after k3b was installed seems quite weird to me: * If you get warnings on start-up, uncheck the "Check system * configuration" option in the "Misc" settings window. If I read it correctly, it just says: If you get any error messages when you start k3b, just disable checking for errors at startup... Some more system info: $ which cdrecord /usr/bin/cdrecord emerge -pv cdrkit These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! Small error, I of course meant: I have the problem that even though cdrecord is installed (via cdrkit), k3b (1.04 as well as 1.05-r3) does not find *the cdrecord executable*."
Ok, after trying to invoke cdrecord from the command-line I found out that some library dependencies with respect to cdrkit were broken. Apparently this was the problem why k3b could not find cdrecord, because after recompiling cdrkit once again, it now works. Sorry for the noise...
