Description Niko Efthymiou 2008-10-15 18:40:50 UTC
while compiling I noticed the following warnings
qscriptbuffer_p.h: In member function ‘void QScriptEnginePrivate::popContext()’:
qscriptbuffer_p.h:138: warning: assuming signed overflow does not occur when ass
uming that (X + c) < X is always false
qscriptbuffer_p.h: In member function ‘void QScriptValueImpl::createMember(QScri
ptNameIdImpl*, QScript::Member*, uint)’:
qscriptbuffer_p.h:138: warning: assuming signed overflow does not occur when ass
uming that (X + c) < X is always false
qscriptbuffer_p.h:138: warning: assuming signed overflow does not occur when ass
uming that (X + c) < X is always false
moc qscriptengine.h

Since this checks are use for overflow detection, things could brake if the are optimized away by the compiler. I tried adding -fno-strict-overflow to the CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS in /etc/make.conf but this did not change anything (yet an other packet ignoring custom CFLAGS?).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge x11-libs/qt-script-4.4.2
Actual Results:
overflow checks are optimized away (yea... gcc people think this is a valid optimization, because the standart says overflow is undefined behaviour...)

Expected Results:
overflow checks should not be optimized away

Try the use flag custom-cxxflags
