Description Florian Aßmann 2003-07-10 01:38:43 UTC
Kernel 2.4.2[0-1].*, gcc 3.2.2, X11 - 4.3.0r2, XMMS 1.2.7-r20, Fluxbox 0.1.14-r1

make.conf::CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer
-fprefetch-loop-arrays -ffast-math -fforce-addr -falign-functions=4 -mfpmath=sse"

I think fluxbox crashes because there are no lines about in my logfiles.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start X (Fluxbox)
2. Start XMMS, open playlist window
3. Minimize all XMMS windows
4. Restore playlist window and close it

Actual Results:
Fluxbox crashes.

Expected Results:
Just close the playlist window without killing my Fluxbox.

There is only gkrellm2 and idesk running. When pid of fluxbox vanishes my x
shuts down.

please recompile xmms and fluxbox with "safer" cflags and then reopen this bug if the crash still occurs.

CFLAGS="-march=athlon-xp -O2 -pipe" are generally safe flags.

I tried it also with safer flags now but the bug still exists.

It would be good to know if xmms is really crashing...

How about setting DISPLAY (to :0.0) in a console and running xmms, switch into X, reproduce the problem and then switch back to console and see if we have any output from xmms?

Re-open if you have more info for us.
