Description Gilberto Ficara 2003-07-09 14:09:01 UTC
With 2.4.21-pfeifer_pre1 I got a system freeze at boot during loading usb-ochi,
with the 2.4.21-pfeifer_pre2 I got module loaded correctly, but nothing works
(usb logitech mouse, usb-storage digital camera).
With 2.4.20-gaming-r5 all works correctly.

I have a nforce2-based motherboard, here is lspci -vvv:

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load usb-ohci
2. Load anything that uses usb (e.g.: hid, usbmouse)
3. Start /etc/init.d/gpm (needs to be configured to use /dev/input/mice)

Actual Results:
gpm could not load because /dev/input/mice not exists
same problem for XFree

Expected Results:
gpm should load properly, same for XFree

actually, nforce2 has some flaky apic issues. and it is known to not allocate and irq to the USB when all the on-board periperals are activated. you'll probably get success using 'noapic'.

i've already contacted several others running nforce2 with usb mice and this kernel and no issues, however 2 of them are using noapic.
