And if I remember correctly the changes in the recent versions of the kernel, it might not be possible for dazuko to work at all, with them...

Worth checking, at least.

I've added the latest and last Dazuko 2.x version, which is supposed to work with current kernels, The package is masked anyways and dicussion for inclusion into Linux is bound to Linux maintainers. Leaving it to interested parties, if this bug should remain open.
