Description Alexander Kazarin 2008-10-13 10:22:17 UTC
if kdelibs-4.1.2 packages emerged with 'kdeprefix' use flag some packages (such a kmail-4.1.2 or kontact-4.1.2) trying to locate some kde libs (such a libkde3support.so) in /usr/lib instead of /usr/kde/4.1/lib

make[2]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/lib/libkde3support.so', needed by `lib/libkmailprivate.so.4.1.0'. Stop.

Reproducible: Always

You are freshly installing kde4 or you upgrade from some overlay or 4.0.X?
Comment 2 Alexander Kazarin 2008-10-13 11:16:59 UTC
At first I upgraded it from kdesvn-portage overlay to 4.1.2 but without 'kdeprefix', and it successfuly emerged.
Now I want to reinstall kde to /usr/kde/4.1
kdebase packages successfuly installed but kmail, kontact, kitchensync and other dont't want

the temporary workaround is place links to /usr/lib for this libs.

Hum. If you would be so nice and read the guide we wrote you would know that only supported way of moving between kdeprefix and -kdeprefix is uninstlal old stuff first then install it again.

I am closing this as invalid reopen if you think you have other issues related
