texlive-common_do_symlinks from texlive-common.eclass calls elog quite a lot. This results in many texlive packages sending an email (with the elog email module enabled) concerning which files were or were not symlinked. Not much point in my opinion, as there seems to be no user interaction required. So why should the admin care about those symlinks, when the ebuild takes care of them? Therefore I suggest demoting those elog calls to einfo. I'll not attach a patch, as a simple "sed -i 's/elog/einfo/g' eclass/texlive-common.eclass" should be enough. Those are the only elog calls in that eclass.
agreed, changed
