www-client/mozilla-firefox-3.0.3 seems to crash pretty randomly. Since I couldn't get any info when launching firefox from console, I tried with gdb. I attached the backtrace below. Good that you got a backtrace, which shows that the crash is happening in libflash. Have you tried downgrading to flash 9 plugin to see if that version is more stable?
I'm pretty sure it doesn't crash with flash-9. But I'd like to keep using flash10, it has nice improvements... I guess I'll wait a newer version of flash :)
Are you running flash under nspluginwrapper? I think you must be, since you're running 32-bit plugin with 64-bit firefox. If so, then try upgrading to a newer version of nspluginwrapper, since the stable one was released well before flash 10. In fact, you might even want to try nspluginwrapper-1.2 in a local overlay, and submit a bump request if it works much better. Also I suggest trying the nspluginplayer app included starting in version 1.1; it looks convenient for trying out plugins without crashing your browser all the time http://gwenole.beauchesne.info/en/projects/nspluginwrapper/help#release_notes
I have updated to flash-10 and nspluginwrapper-1.1.2 in portage. I'll let you know if it still crashes.
Any more problems, or ok to close this bug?
yes, close this please. thanks
