Description Klaas Decanniere 2008-10-10 19:50:47 UTC
I ran into a problem (re)installing kdegraphics 3.5.9:

 * checking miscfile checksums ;-) ...                                   [ ok ]
 * This package requires app-text/poppler-bindings compiled with Qt 3.x support.
 * Please reemerge app-text/poppler-bindings with USE="qt3".
 *
 * ERROR: kde-base/kdegraphics-3.5.9 failed.
 * Call stack:
 * ebuild.sh, line   49:  Called pkg_setup
 * kdegraphics-3.5.9.ebuild, line   45:  Called die
 * The specific snippet of code:
 * die "Please reemerge app-text/poppler-bindings with USE="qt3"."
 * The die message:
 * Please reemerge app-text/poppler-bindings with USE="qt3".

I have re-emerged poppler-bindings, and it picks up qt 4 just fine.
I seem to remember I have turned on the qt3support use flag at some point, but the package qt-qt3support is not installed (and masked).

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
not compiled

qt-4.x with USE="qt3support" doesn't replace a full qt3 installation, it only adds a compatibility layer to ease porting of applications to qt4. You really need to (re-)emerge poppler-bindings with qt3 in your USE flags.

On another note I'd suggest using kdegraphics-meta since there won't be any monolothic packages for 3.5.10 anymore which will cause you some hassle with upgrading to it once it goes stable.
