Description Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-03 18:53:37 UTC
As per summary; I've been running it for rbot-bugzilla on my server for quite a while, I guess it's good to go stable?

I see this on amd64:

>>> Completed installing httpclient-2.1.2 into /var/tmp/portage/dev-ruby/httpclient-2.1.2/image/

mv: cannot stat `/var/tmp/portage/dev-ruby/httpclient-2.1.2/image///usr/lib64/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/*': No such file or directory

Diego, please add us back to CC when the problem in Comment #1 is fixed. We don't know if it is critical or not. Thanks.
Comment 3 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-15 11:29:41 UTC
That comes from ruby.eclass not from the ebuild...

I "worked it around" by changing the USE_RUBY variable to fix to 1.8 (as 1.9 is not in tree); can the rest of Ruby team advise about what's happening there? Thanks.
Comment 4 Hans de Graaff gentoo-dev Security 2008-10-16 08:45:50 UTC
It's a known bug with using "any" as the value for USE_RUBY. It's not critical in any case, and Diego fixed it the same way I fixed this for some other ebuilds. Please go ahead and mark this stable if there are no other issues.

I guess the proper fix is to not support "any" in USE_RUBY since this may break things with newer ruby releases. I'd rather be explicit about which ruby versions a package supports.
