Description Philip Kovacs 2008-09-30 02:24:06 UTC
gtkmm-2.14.1, the C++ bindings for Gtk+ 2.14, are available.

Please bump.

Reproducible: Always

Not right now. We need pangomm first, and for that we need pango-1.22 first, and for that we need cairo-1.8, and for that lots of work needs to be done to not screw up systems with bad circular deps, or so the cairo maintainers say.

We very well know about GNOME bumps without bump requests for the official modules, with semi-automatic generation of lists such as GNOME 2.24 portage status at http://dev.gentoo.org/~leio/gnome/

Are there any estimates when the bump can happen?
Comment 3 Mart Raudsepp gentoo-dev 2008-11-02 22:49:15 UTC
it can theoretically happen now as the pango/cairo situation is solved, it's just not high in priorities because nothing in-tree needs the new version minimally. Do you need for your own development work?

Well, I guess I request this as an end user. Current RawTherapee (photographic software/RAW developer) needs gtkmm-2.14. This is a very major update to this great software... What brings to mind the fact, that it could be added to portage too.

Gilles got around to bumping these. gtkmm-2.14.1 and co are in ~arch now.
Regarding the software, you can try making sure there's an open request for packaging it in bugzilla, and helps to have a good quality ebuild included.
While it may sit there for a while, it has better chances than there being no request for it.

I should just put myself in gnome-mm CC :)
