Hi This the ebuild script for the OpenLook Virtual Window Manager, and old but imho still very functional windowmanager. From the README: Olvwm (OPEN LOOK virtual window manager) is an ICCCM compliant window manager supplied for use with the XView toolkit. It is derived from olwm, the OPEN LOOK window manager supplied with the XView release. This version of olvwm is based on version 3 of the XView release. /Henrik Hellerstedt (henrik@katedral.se)
Created attachment 797 [details] olvwm-4.0.ebuild (new package)
Created attachment 798 [details] files/olvwm (for /etc/X11/Sessions) This file is installed by the olvwm-4.0.ebuild script into /etc/X11/Sessions so it shows up in various X Display Managers.
Created attachment 799 [details] files/openwin-menu This file is for the olvwm/files dir and is installed by olvwm-4.0.ebuld script into /usr/share/olvwm and is the default root menu.
Created attachment 800 [details, diff] files/olvwm-4.0.gentoo.diff This patch will be applied by the olvwm-4.0.ebuild script to the olvwm-4.0 source, it changes the default directory in olvwm from /usr/openwin to /usr/share/olvwm, so olvwm itself can find the openwin-menu (and other things) It also changes the default built in menu.
Depends on the previously submitten ebuildscript olgx-1.34.ebuild olgx has bugid 2388

who want's to commit this into tree ?
I think this ebuild is not needed because x11-libs/xview contains olwm and olvwm.
Hello, I built it yesterday (1st Sept 2003) without problems. It seems to work very well indeed. I only have one comment: Isn't it possible to add a startup file such that I get the possibility via gdm (or xdm) to choose OpenWin (As I can choose between Gnome and KDE for instance)? Best regards Daniel
Is this going to be added to portage or, if it is contained in xview, can it be marked 'invalid' and closed?
it's is contained in xview, we could split it up, but that would be another bug report -> close
As (probably) one of the main olvwm users, I'm happy with it being in xview. It's worth checking out that it fits into the WM-management scheme (as per comments 2, 3, 4) sometime. Why has no recent WM had any decent viewport support? Mad.
