What does 'gcc-config -l' print ?
Or, more to the point, did you change CHOST value recently ?
Comment 2 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-09-29 15:53:56 UTC
Does it build properly after removing the space character in your CHOST variable?
Comment 3 Maxi Combina 2008-09-29 18:30:30 UTC
Thanks for the comments.

The output of `gcc-config -l' was correct (I guess):
# gcc-config -l
 [1] i686-pc-linux-gnu-4.1.2 *

The hint about the extra space in CHOST turned out to be the problem. My /etc/make.conf said:
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"\

USE="...."

As you can guess by now, the extra "\" was causing the problem (don't remember how it got there in the first place... my mystake, sure. Or maybe some interface? kuroo?).

The odd thing is that almost all the packages could be built OK... the only 2 causing troubles were busybox and glibc.

Once again, thanks,
Maxi
