This bug has already been reported elsewhere under debian and others. Essentially, if the AuthPass field of the config file contains an equals sign, it fails to parse it and emails cannot be sent due to failure to connect. The fix is very easy as noted in the above link. I will also attach a suggested patch file. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set AuthPass in /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf to a value with an equals sign in it 2. Try to send an email, as in: echo lol | mail -v user@domain.com -s "lol" 3. Observe failure to connect! Actual Results: Fails to connect to an smtp server which requires a password with an equals sign in it. Expected Results: Should have allowed the equals sign in the password field...
