In the XFCE4 backdrop settings, if a list of backdrops is created, the default font changes and all GTK settings seem to revert to defaults. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Left-click on the desktop. 2. Select Settings/Backdrop. 3. Click New List and select a few image files. 4. Click Save. Actual Results: My default font switched to a small bitmap font and all GTK apps now shared the same setting. Expected Results: Randomly loaded one of those backdrops to my root window.
Created attachment 14103 [details, diff] A patch to correct the backdrop settings list behaviour in xfdesktop. This patch is courtesy of Jasper Huijsmans of the XFCE4-Users list.
Created attachment 14104 [details] This is the modified xfdesktop-3.91.0.ebuild script to include the xfdesktop-list.patch. This is just a modification of the original xfdesktop-3.91.0.ebuild to unpack the source and apply the patch. After emerging with this ebuild, the backdrop list functionality is working.
this should have been fixed in RC2
