Description Ingo Krabbe 2003-07-02 01:15:13 UTC
While updating xmms as a dependancy of mplayer I encounter an error that I
haven't seen before. Strangely I cannot revert back to xmms-1.2.7-r20, that had
been installed before (means that I cannot recompile it).

The current version 1.2.7-r22 fails during the build of

Making all in blur_scope
make[3]: Entering directory
`/var/tmp/portage/xmms-1.2.7-r22/work/xmms-1.2.7/Visualization/blur_scope'
cd ../.. && automake --gnu --include-deps Visualization/blur_scope/Makefile
automake-1.5: Visualization/blur_scope/Makefile.am: Assembler source seen but
`ASFLAGS' not defined in `configure.in'

this more looks like an automake problem to me. I didn't watched the last
updates: Was automake or any relevant package updated recently in Gentoo 1.4r4 ?

Maybe anyone knows the solution to this problem, that looks like a system
configuration problem to me.

Another vote against autoconf ...

First emerge automake-1.7.5-r2 (should hit rsync soon) and re-emerge. The error
was that automake-1.7.5 and -r1 installed automake-1.5 in automake-1.4's place.
