Description Kundai Midzi 2008-09-17 07:46:58 UTC
Starting with libxklavier-3.5, the postinst function informs about using revdep-rebuild to rebuild affected libraries. In the description, it is suggested that the -X flag is passed to revdep-rebuild; however, -X is a deprecated flag (from what I can tell, since gentoolkit-0.2.3.1).

Small patch fixing problem.

It's not clear whether the omission of -X results in any loss of functionality; i.e, no replacement flag is specified.

wrong priority.
Comment 3 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-09-20 23:12:00 UTC
in fact this flag is specified for compatibility with old versions of revdep-rebuild, not sure when it'll be safe to remove it from einfo's.

maybe tools-portage has a word for us on this one ?
Comment 4 Paul Varner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-09-21 06:42:11 UTC
It doesn't hurt anything to specify -X in the einfo.

It is deprecated in the gentoolkit-0.2.4 series, since that is now the default behaviour. I'll be requesting that gentoolkit-0.2.4.2 be marked stable at the end of the month. After it goes stable, it should be fine to change the einfo.

Dropped -X from every ebuild.
