AMD64 AT Test Report

Compiles/Installs: OK
Functionality: OK with use -md5sum-external.
With md5sum-external set the application returns errors on what I believe are very long pathnames and the application crashes.

Could you show us how it fails. What error message. Could you gather strace output (something like 'strace -o out fdups ...' and attach compressed out here)?

Well I haven't had a chance to reproduce the same crash but I suspect it isn't quoting files correctly when passing them to the external md5sum app.

md5sum: /home/ALG: No such file or directory
fdupes: error generating signature for /home/ALG&DTST.DOC

This does not occur with USE -external-md5sum. I will trim down the strace log to a reasonable size and attach.

Comment 5 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-09-17 08:50:25 UTC
Chad, I've just commited fdupes-1.40-r3 which should fix this issue. Could you retest with this revision?
Comment 6 Chad A. Simmons 2008-09-17 13:07:53 UTC
Peter,

Looks good here thanks for fixing. One little thing I noticed was quotation is spelled wrong in the patch file name but it has no effect as the same spelling is used in the ebuild.

Thank you again, amd64 stable. Typo fixed too, btw.
