media-video/vlc can use libkate as an optional subtitle decoder for kate subtitles. For now it's disabled but i'd like to enable it later. The format isn't widespread yet, but you can build sample videos from the libkate tarball (make streams; iirc you'll have to modify configure.ac so that it can find oggzmerge instead of oggz-merge and provide it with a sample theora file that it'll mux subtitles in) Testing procedure: install libkate EXTRA_ECONF=--enable-kate emerge >=vlc-0.9.2 vlc myfile.ogg video menu->subtiles->set the subtitle track (afaik support in vlc isn't perfect, as it doesn't support all the kate features but basic support should work fine)
~x86 added.
bsd done
i've added the useflag to 0.9.3 so you'll need to rekeyword it aswell; sorry for the inconvenience
Added ~sparc to media-libs/libkate and to media-video-vlc-0.9.3.
the libkate needs fixing: make[1]: Entering directory `/var/tmp/portage/media-libs/libkate-0.2.0/work/libkate-0.2.0/doc' echo "doxygen not found, cannot build docs" doxygen not found, cannot build docs /bin/false make[1]: *** [.doc-dummy-target] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/media-libs/libkate-0.2.0/work/libkate-0.2.0/doc' make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 I recommend a USE-flag "doc" and corresponding dep(s).
