This ebuild installs a prelude-nagios plugin so that Nagios can send alerts to the prelude-manager. After this ebuild has been accepted and commited, could nagios-core be changed so it depends on this ebuild if USE="prelude" is set? As usual, the full ebuild tarball is sent to solar@g.o, and the catagory needs to be modified.
Created attachment 14048 [details] Ebuild for prelude-nagios 0.0.2 (-r1 = patch added against official release) This ebuild depends on a patch (uploaded soon) that creates more descriptive alert messages.
Created attachment 14049 [details, diff] Patch to generate better alert messages This patch I hacked up to generate better alert messages then what the stock release has (stock release uses a static alert message, not very useful). This patch has also been sent to the original author and hopefully it will be included in the next release of the plugin.
I have added some documentation at http://gentoo.zhware.net/cgi-bin/moin.cgi/PreludeIntrusionDetectionSystem More to come.
Note to self and Michael Boman # prelude-nagios-0.0.2.tar.gz is a POSIX tar archive from exaprobe # In the future I think we should to try to avoid calling # tar directly from ebuilds. # Our possible solutions. # 1) email exaprobe and inform them that the .tar.gz is only a .tar # 2) Repackage the tarball as a .bz2 and put it on a gentoo mirror
Added to portage as net-analyzer/prelude-nagios-0.0.2.ebuild with Michael Boman's patch.
That was commited as net-analyzer/prelude-nagios/prelude-nagios-0.0.2.ebuild not net-analyzer/prelude-nagios-0.0.2.ebuild
