Description Russell Adams 2003-06-30 13:05:29 UTC
EVMS fails to detect EVMS volumes at boot, evms_rediscover must be run by hand.

Created/modified EVMS volumes are not saved properly or detected in the kernel.

Later boots with EVMS-enabled kernel (post-install) fail to recognize EVMS
volumes created with installation CD. Possible corruption or data loss?

As a result, creating new EVMS volumes for direct installation is completely
broken. The above problems prevent a new system from being built from scratch
with EVMS.

Very annoying when trying to build a server with mirrored disks. ;]

Another issue I found with sys-fs/evms-2.2.2 is that it couldn't find libevms-2.2.2.so. Running ldconfig by hand fixed. Should this be run by the ebuild?

env-update should be run by emerge after the emerge... that runs ldconfig...

Can youu try 2.3.4. I used 2.3.4 from scratch this week for raid0 and raid1.

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
