The nvidia guide mentions several kernel configure options that just don't exist any more or have been moved. Reproducible: Always #this one is now under Device Drivers->Graphics Support Device Drivers ---> Character devices ---> <*> /dev/agpgart (AGP Support) Device Drivers ---> Graphics Support ---> < > nVidia Framebuffer Support #This is now Device Drivers ---> Graphics Support ---> <*> Support for frame buffer devices ---> < > nVidia Framebuffer Support #the same goes for the VESA bit #this is nowhere to be found <*> Userspace VESA VGA graphics support
(In reply to comment #0) #this is nowhere to be found <*> Userspace VESA VGA graphics support Uh, yes it is. It's under Device Drivers - Graphics Support - Framebuffer Devices. It's uvesafb; all semi-recent kernels use it, even vanilla-sources, since it was accepted upstream some time ago. It was originally introduced in gentoo-sources. I'll update the guide; some options have moved around.
Fixed in CVS.
